Ktunaxa Grill - AINSWORTH HOT SPRINGS

I have nothing but good things to say about our experience here. All of the food was absolutely delicious. The duck was my favorite, super tender and moist. The server was right about this chef being one of the few people who know how to cook duck well. The seafood pasta was tasty too. I'm usually not a fan of pesto based sauces but this one was really good and the shrimp and scallops were fresh too. Our server was a gentlemen who had a wonderful sense of humor made fantastic recommendations and was super attentive. His name tag only said FT and I didn't catch his name, but he definitely played a big part on why we had such a good experience. 100/10! Would recommend and would do again!

WOW! they have made so many improvements, the restaurant looks great, the staff are the best, and the food will not disappoint. The smoked turkey sandwich was fantastic, I ordered it twice. The best part about the food is it is made in house, bread is local. the price for what you get is reasonable. I suggest stay a night in the hotel, enjoy the hot water and take full advantage of the restaurant. GREAT JOB guys keep it up. This is by far one of my top picks for a restaurant. Forgot to mention the view from the restaurant is unbeatable. The only suggestion I could make is if there is anyway they can put in a roof top patio so you can eat outside when the weather cooperates. Update July 2021 They added a new outdoor patio with fantastic views. Even if your not staying in the hotel or taking a dip in the hot spring I suggest you book a reservation. The food is excellent, staff are great and you can't beat the views. Its an annual tradition for us, the new owners have made some incredible up[dates if you haven't been here in a long time come back you will be impressed.

Giving 4 stars because the overall experience was enjoyable. 4 of us were sat in a booth, we all enjoyed our meals, I ordered the trout which I found to be bland other than the very very salty skin, but it may have just been preference. Unfortunately while I was using the washroom, the sliding lock had a sharp piece of metal sticking out that quite literally sliced a chunk of my knuckle right off. After slowing the bleeding in the bathroom, I made my way to the bar to ask for a bandage. It turns out my server was the one who was behind the bar at that time to assist me. Nothing was really said or done about it, and I felt that it was handled very non-chalantly. We actually ended up checking out of the ainsworth hotel a night early because I could no longer comfortably soak my hand in the hot springs. The braised beef ribs were so tender and delicious. The lavender rose petal cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had. I can look past small things as long as the food is what we had hoped for; but I think this establishment should have taken more initiative to address my injury that occurred there.

Vegetarian options: Salad was dry. N tasteless. Duck breast was small n too raw, pricy. It used got many smoke elk meat from mussel dish. now just got 4tiny pieces of tasteless meat. Price raise but food quality drop, very disappointed.

Good lunch meal after soaking in the hot Springs, had an evening meal also which was lovely, a good indigenous menu on offer ,good service and friendly
