I had a hot chocolate with mandel milk and it was good. I would like to have hot chips for lunch from a pub than what I got. They indicated that there would be more possibilities if I had arrived earlier, but I was there at 130, which I think is still firm in the lunchtime and they had 3 or 4 vegetarian meals and 4 different sweets. Maybe I was very unhappy because the menu changes every day? if I'm back in waroona, I'll give them another shot.
Great service, nice eating of cake and baked to rawballs and salads, large coffee and selection of tees with many choice of milk. I love the hairy lentil.
Hairy Lentil is a vegetarian café located in the small town of Waroona, approximately 20km from Forrest Highway. The café is easily identifiable by its colorful exterior and beautifully decorated interior. In addition to serving a variety of dishes, Hairy Lentil also sells products such as mandala chai latte powder (vegan), candles, and cards. During my visit, I enjoyed a gluten-free vegan dish featuring tomatoes, eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds with a blend of three salads. The meal was topped with a delicious dressing and followed by a shared dessert of raw vegan brownie and St. Nic's ball, both of which were delightful. While the café currently does not have a set menu, they offer daily specials in their cabinet and plan to expand to include a juice and smoothie bar as well as a dine-in menu. I highly recommend visiting Hairy Lentil when in the area.
I had high expectations for the café since it was vegetarian and had received many positive reviews, but I was disappointed to find that there were only a few vegan options available, such as a potato and lentil patty, a couscous salad, and a garden salad. The staff initially told me that the cake was vegan, but this information was later corrected by another employee. There were no vegan dessert options, which was disappointing considering the glowing reviews. The couscous salad was unremarkable and the lentil patty was just okay. However, the hot chocolate made with almond milk was enjoyable. Overall, I would have preferred to have hot chips for lunch from a pub instead. The staff mentioned that there would have been more options if I had arrived earlier, but I was there at 1:30 PM, which I still consider to be midday. They had 3 or 4 vegetarian meals and 4 different desserts available. Perhaps my disappointment stemmed from the fact that the menu changes daily. If I find myself back in Waroona, I may give this café another chance.
The service at this restaurant is excellent, and they offer a wide variety of tasty food options. From cakes and pastries to raw balls and salads, there is something for everyone. They also have a great selection of coffee and teas, with many choices of milk available. My favorite dish is the Hairy Lentil.
