I ordered 3 rolls for pickup. I made a note for extra wasabi and I confirmed with the lady that she did put extra wasabi upon pickup. However, this is how much I got for 3 rolls. This was my second time there, the sushi was good for the first time but the ramen was not. This time the sushi rice was hard, didn’t taste fresh. Won’t come back again.
So there we were 7:30 Friday night, really in the mood for Japanese food, (knowing this was late for Maple Ridge)I checked FB looking for some hidden gem, again knowing this was late for our fun city, read good things about Sushi Umibe, decided to give it a try, boy were we glad we did!Chicken teriyaki was amazing- crispy pieces of chicken with the perfect amount of sauce, not over loaded and drowning in it.The 2 rolls we tried were new to us but again did not disappoint:Umibe Roll said it was spicy but it wasn't too much, just the right amount of heat in the spicy mayoProsciutto Roll- perfect balance of salty and sweet with mango sauce topped with a caper on each piece. The service was amazing! As soon as we walked in the door, we had a warm welcome from I'm guessing the owner. The young lady serving us was constantly on the ready, always keeping an eye on our tea level, which, by the way, has a nice nutty flavour. The food was fast, fresh, hot and oh so tasty! This will be our new go to.
This is my first time ordering from Umibe, and have heard positive comments about the food etc..I ordered 2 rolls, and let me tell you without a word of a lie, they were massive actually monstrous. The pricing here is definitely cheaper then the rest of maple Ridge and would say it's adequately fair. This will definitely be my new go to restaurant. Keep up the good work.
Since moving to Maple Ridge this has become our goto place for Japanese. Food is always good (not downtown Vancouver good but close). Serving sizes are good and service is always good
