El Tovar Dining Room

We had breakfast and lunch here... so much we liked this place. Beautiful retro vibe You feel like you're going back 80 years. Our food and service were excellent. You can see the Grand Canyon from the dining room - depending on where you are sitting - but El Tovar is a bit set back from the rim so that the view is not exactly fabulous. Nevertheless, it was great to have a relaxed, peaceful meal as a break from the hectic South Rim.

Atmosphere ten stars... my Dad and I went for breakfast... stunning view, relaxed atmosphere, very good food. The highlight of our entire Arizona road trip week. Note that both Lunch and Supper require reservations (undoubtedly well in advance) but breakfast does not. We had no wait.

Wow! Best place to eat at Grand Canyon. Just prepare to wait a while to get a table. Great interiors with open fires and hunting trophies. Great views of the canyon. Great service. Had the best eggs benedicts in a long time. Awesome hot cocoa.

El Tovar has hands down the best view for a restaurant. It also has a cozy ambiance. The service was 5/5, everyone was so attentive and friendly, really enjoyed that. The food was good, nothing to rave about. We tried the Mediterranean salad which was good. The pesto pasta needed a lot of salt and pepper to give it any flavor. The beyond burger was good and the fries that came with it were good. We got their desert of the day which was the apple strudel pie recommended by the server, it was good but the ice cream was old because it was freezer burn. Overall, it was good, but the service and the view are definitely the best part!

This was a yummy place to eat in a place that has limited places to eat. I would get here rather early if you want breakfast at one of the best tables with a view as the fill up quickly. They have a good selection of food, my only complaint is the service was rather slow the last time we went but perhaps that was just our waiter that day. Other than that I would highly recommend getting an early breakfast here for a memorable trip!
