Dinn Ri - Carlow

We were here for a large family gathering and had a set meal booked for the bar.The food is very good, top end bar food. Very generous servings. The usual choices were offered, starters were, a soup, chicken wings or calamari.The soup was very good and came with delicious fresh brown bread.The chicken wings were quite a large portion for a starter. The calamari was a good standard.Mains were, slow cooked beef, a chicken dish, a fish and a pasta.The beef was very tender and again a very generous portion with some very nice sides of vegetables. One slight criticism is the gravy could have been more plentiful. The fish and the chicken dishes got the thumbs up but the pasta (peppers etc) was regarded as rather bland.As it was a family celebration , there was cake for dessert.All in all, very good for family gatherings.

Top class as always we just had carvery in the bar great service friendly staff and lovely beef dinner never disappoint

Carvery lunch, food was only OK, and not very hot even though it was o'clock
