While eating our breakfast, I seen a few customers asking while they were leaving about homemade brown bread to take away so I done the same and from that day on when I'm in Carlow I collect the best brown bread EVER to take away.
After moving to Carlow during the pandemic, I found a welcoming spot at this restaurant. The food is homemade and fresh, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The owner is always eager to chat and make customers feel at home. I've tried many local eateries since moving here, but none have been as welcoming as this one. If you prefer a simple, hearty meal made with locally sourced ingredients and served with a smile in a clean setting, this is the place for you. While it may not be the most modern or visually impressive restaurant, the staff here truly appreciate their customers and provide top-notch service. I find comfort in the nostalgia of 90's vibes at this place and will continue to return. Plus, all take-away coffees come in compostable cups, which is a nice touch.
I recently moved to this area and I absolutely love visiting the Country Kitchen. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, always going out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. The food is homemade and delicious, made with fresh local ingredients. The atmosphere is very charming and inviting. Whether you're stopping in for a coffee and a slice of cake, or looking for a satisfying lunch or dinner, this place has everything you could want. I highly recommend paying a visit.
Ordered a Lazanga dish it was fabulous, so tasty fresh proper home cooked food! My friends ordered toasted sandwiches which were done to perfection. One tried my lazanga and loved it so much she got one to takeaway. Staff are so lovely and friendly. Highly recommend here! P.S try the coffee cake it was fab too again proper homemade!
We have been visiting the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Carlow Town (in the Haddens Center) for over 20 yrs and always look forward to the friendly welcome from Joan and staff. The food is home cooked and served up with a smile. Service is quick and prices reasonable. You can't go wrong with the Sheperd's Pie, Lasagna or any of the daily specials. And if you just want coffee and a slice of cake then check out their Lemon Meringue Pie! Highly recommend if you are passing through Carlow Town.
