Wheelhouse Restaurant - Whitehorse

The restaurant was beautifully decorated with the old paddle wheelers of days gone by. The menu was quite interesting and varied. The service was excellent and well paced. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Whitehorse.

We visited twice while on a short trip to Whitehorse. The first time we sat outside on the patio and both had the arctic char and caesar salas. The caesar salad was very good (not sure what solo bass is on about), but the arctic char was the star (together with mashed potatoes with leeks). Perfectly cooked and delicate. Reasonable wine list with great choices, too! We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next night with our colleagues. We were quite late after a show, but they kept the kitchen open just for us. Elk bolognese and shepherds pie wasn't quite as great as the arctic char, but still very, very good.

Wonderful atmosphere and attentive staff. We had a few prohibition cocktails in the sun and some appetizers. Loved the decor and particularly the Sternwheeler Tapas! Thank you Wheelhouse Staff for a lovely evening. If you are coming here for a quick bite don't. This is an experience and would suite an evening out!

The chef is a rank amateur who presented me with the worst Caesar Salad I have ever eaten in my entire life! The lettuce (not particularly fresh) was so wet that the dissipated dressing had almost no taste. I held off writing this review for a while in hope that I might write a kinder review but the more I think about this particular restaurant the angrier I become. The prices were high and the portions were minuscule. The bread offering was a joke! If you want to be ripped off this is the place to go!

This is a fun place to meet and eat. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The décor is interesting and comfortable.
