When we got there, we were seated right away and the lovely woman who seated us said they were never notified by open table about the reservation but it didn’t matter because we got seated right away anyway! Vince gave me a rose made from a napkin and took our drink orders. I asked for the guava mango on the drink list to be made alcoholic and he returned with 3 different samples for me to test which I liked best! He was so nice and accommodating! We ordered the Johnny cakes with mango butter (AMAZING, I could eat that butter all day), the beef and chicken patties (SO DELICIOUS) and the special of the day, beef stew. The beef was so tender and the rice and veggies all went perfectly together. We loved the homemade hot sauce Vince told us his brother makes and really appreciated the time he took to chat with us and made us feel so welcome. Vince was also spinning some sick 90’s hip hop when he wasn’t bartending or serving. The whole experience was so great and we can’t wait to go back to try more dishes!
Can’t say enough good things about this place. Curried goat was spectacular and the jerk chicken Is delicious. Definitely makes you sweat. Even on a cold winter night this place will warm you up, very chill and friendly staff. 5 stars. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Jerk Chicken Wings, Curried Goat
The fried dumplings we got were hard like rocks and not fresh. Chickens don't taste fresh. Rice and engraving tasted good. Too expensive in my opinion as you get tons of rice and little meat for $25. Coleslaw had too much vinegar. Rumcake wasn't authentic because my wife is a Caribbean cook. Service: Take Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: CA$30–40
We had just returned from a Caribbean cruise and wanted some Roti and Ochsenschwanz, which would compare with the tastes. PG’s had some great reviews so we decided to make the trek. The ambience definitely gives off island vibes and we had to get a ting to go with our meal. We enjoyed everything so much that at the end we order her jerk and sewn chicken to go home later for dinner. It's just too bad they're in White Rock, we'd order differently on a regular basis.
I love everything about this place. The food is amazing. Staff friendly. Great decor.
