My friend went to onyx august 18. we wanted to eat, but the prices were ridiculously high. So we had only 8 ounces. glass of wine. (where else 9 ounces) when we get the bill, they were cost. $25.00 tipp. total bill $60.00 for two glasses wein! also there was not a glass of wine on her wine list that was $25.00 per glass.
The most amazing eating, service and atmosphere! this is in top ten best steakhouse in the lower mainland.
The steak here is unmatched perfectly cooked and excellent accompaniments. I had the New York Steak with a side of the roasted Brussels Sprouts. The steak was juicy, tender, and flavourful, and the Brussels Sprouts were melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely come a bit early ...Happy Hour ends at 5:30 and the tart/sweet Guava Martini is only on their Happy Hour menu. We love this place.
Was out with 5 friends for New Year 's Eve. Had made a reservation a week in advance. Upon arrival we had to wait 25 minutes for our table to be set. Not a big deal but the restaurant seemed busy, short staffed and unhappy staff....We went to have a drink at the bar and the bartender threw food menus at us and walked away saying if we order drinks he will more it to our table. Asked about wine corkage fee and was told not on special occasions. So ok but they could have let us know in advance. (normally $35 per bottle). We ordered wine and the bottle was not the correct vintage as per the menu. But delicious newer vintage. We ordered food immediately and 90 minutes later our meals arrived. Cold and late! They just reheated my $45 ribeye as it was lukewarm as well as a friends and the onion ring and mushroom sides were cold as well. Service was at best ok. Not as attentive but it was New Year 's Eve. Not sure if we will return as there are other choices in the neighborhood that are more consistent. Very disappointed for a $400 dollar bill!
