Cj Steakhouse - Wharton

Wow. The food service ambience and everything else was absolutely terrific. We had a large number of appetizers steaks along with desserts. We also ordered wines off the menu. Just go. I think my steak was as good a New York strip as I have had in awhile. the short ribs along with the duck were both excellent...Donald should not be forgotten. Terrific experience in a great atmosphere please keep it up.

Staff was great! Very friendly and talkative. The location was good and ambiance was great as well. The drinks were very good. Not sure I would consider this to be a STEAKHOUSE though. With four steak options on the menu that seems questionable. They do not have a Bone In? How is this possible? Steak was not to my expectations though it was not bad. It's on the pricey side but for the times who isn't? I am happy that I tried but won't be returning.

I went tonight for my 4th time. I had been there twice previously alone and it was so good I had to tell my girl and her friends and came back once with her and once with a group. All 4 times I was raving that even though it's the most expensive steakhouse around it was worth it. Well tonight I had a free night before work so I stopped in for a steak that I was very excited for and was very let down. The steak itself was not by any means what you would or should get from a decent steak house. The ribeye cut was lacking flavor and was very tough. I normally would compare the steak I got tonight to a high end steak house, but this was no where near that level. I would compare it to a 20$ steak at an Italian restaurant. The wings I got were mediocre at best, I would not waste the money ordering them again. After some talking I found out the original chef is no longer there, nor is the manager I had the last 4 times. To me if I had to guess, they are not generating enough money in the restaurant so they cut costs on chefs, staff, and sadly on the cut of meat they serve. There is zero chance they are serving the same meat they were on my last visits as they are now.The last thing is the price. It is the most expensive steakhouse anywhere in the area. Their ribeye is 68$, compare that to roots, rails, rare, the high end steak houses in the area and they are aprox 10$ higher than the rest for a lesser quality and less consistent steak. I hope this review is a fluke and not the new norm because if it is the new normal this restaurant does not stand a chance lasting another 1-3 years which is a shame because though they have always been over priced, the original steaks I ate there were very good. Hope things change.

I went to CJ for the first time this time last year. Me and my Girlfriend went for our Anniversary .Her steak came out perfect ,while mine was still moooing, I asked for medium well,i sent it back and it came back burnt.I didn 't want to return to this place again.Fast forward to this year,my Girlfriend talked me into trying it again.I made a reservation for 6pm.....we got there at 5:45pm. The place was closed,we checked the website and it said they should be open for lunch and dinner. No sign on the door explaining why they are closed.I call their number on the website and got a recording saying no one is available to take your call and hung up on me. So left and went to my choice for dinner and had a great time.

When we first walked in there was a bug climbing the wall next to the host stand. Nice small place but the food was ok. I ordered a ribeye and it was the worst ribeye I have had. Barely even marbled so might have even served me the wrong cut or it was just a bad ribeye. The entire steak was burnt and left a terrible after taste. Their special steak sauce tasted like they added a fee spices to Heinz ketchup. Caramelized Brussels sprouts are good. Definitely spend your money elsewhere if you want steak but otherwise it wasn't terrible.
