Marra's Uptown Sandwich Salad House

Stopping on Sunday while they had partial power from a storm and was greeted by the owner. He was so cheerful given the circumstances. He told me what he had and that the fryer wasn't available. I ordered the Uptown. It was so good and fresh. It came with grilled chicken, avocado, Swiss cheese, bacon, tomato and chipotle mayo. It had such a bite to it that it was special. I'd order it again. I got my sandwich to go due to no A/C. The place is very clean. Than on Tuesday I decided to make a return trip. I ordered the drunken parm and a side of mini rice balls. I ate in this time. The woman who took my order was so friendly. She made me feel like I was home. She told me to get a drink and she'll bring the food to me. The drunken chicken is chicken parmigiana smothered in vodka sauce. The chicken was so moist and not tough at all. The bread was fresh. And the mini rice balls with a side or marinara were so tasty. You could tell they were fresh and not from a box. I hadn't been here in a while but I'm glad I rediscovered them again. The staff make you feel so welcome and you can find anything on the menu. I will be back and recommend to anyone passing by or in the neighborhood.

Fresh and high quality ingredients elevated the Uptown sandwich I had here. When everything's fresh, then if it sounds good to you, it will be. There are perhaps three tables for four people and two tables for two people inside. On a Saturday at lunchtime, there were four of us dining in solo and a regular stream of online orderers picking up their already bagged food. A great place to stop and refuel.

I've been to Marra's in Roseland quite a few times, but today was my first time stopping in at Marra's Uptown in East Hanover. The #5 eggplant sandwich has always been a favorite of mine and my wife. I picked up one of those along with a turkey and cheese for my stepson. The sandwiches are so huge, my wife and I wound up splitting ours and it was plenty. The #5 is lots of eggplant, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, with balsamic....and it's delicious! This looks mostly takeout, but there are a few tables to dine inside. Easy parking.

Not sure which is better the good or service as both are great Highly recommend them for excellent Italian cuisine
