Sazon Cocina Mexicana - Waukegan

I was a bit disappointed that they don't have tables, but the food is fantastic! I really appreciate the free samples they offer. I tried the Obispo with rice and beans, a tamale, and atole. I will definitely be back!

Despite its small size and limited hours, this restaurant is a true gem in Waukegan. I absolutely adore the decor and the cozy ambiance; it makes me feel right at home as soon as I walk in. The staff is incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming. I've only been able to visit during my lunch breaks on Thursdays or Fridays, but it's never too crowded, so I've always managed to find a seat. They also have some outdoor tables available. The food is simply delicious—every dish I've tried has been excellent, but my favorites are the Enchiladas Suizas. Their desserts are equally outstanding. This is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican cuisine, and they even have some lovely Mexican ceramics for sale. Enjoy your visit!

This quaint, family-run restaurant in Waukegan offers delicious, fresh Mexican cuisine. Now that we've discovered it, we're definitely going to become regulars! Everything was served hot and fresh, prepared just for us. Even the red sauce on the table tasted homemade! The concise menu ensures that each dish is crafted to perfection. I enjoyed my meal so much that I even had leftovers for later. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the place was spotless and cheerful. It’s an excellent spot for a family dinner.

It was so delicious! Too bad we can only enjoy it at weekends, but like all good things it is worth waiting! Your Enchiladas are amazing! Great taste, and only the right amount of heat!

Very good place to eat! The Barbacoa is amazing!! The taste of it is so good that it just melts in your mouth. The fact that they make everything from scratch and have an open kitchen is great to me. It makes it feel less of a traditional restaurant and more of a home cooked meal that is awesome. Will for sure be back!! Thank you
