La Casa De Samuel - Waukegan

This restaurant is not your average Mexican eatery. They offer an impressive variety of dishes and drinks, and the service is excellent. The handmade corn tortillas are a standout, and the establishment is spotless. You’ll find some unique and exotic dishes on the menu. I decided to visit specifically for the mole.

We visited La Casa de Samuel on a whim, we went to the Genesee Theater for a concert and needed a place to serve us quickly. We went to a packed house (theaters and locals) and asked if they could take time frames. They were very gracious, set us, served us chips and salsa (holy cow) and took our orders together with their recommendations! Put your hands down, the best hispanic food I ever had! Everything was fresh and qualitative. I had eggs a chorizo and my wife had sopes! Everything was fantastic. The best beans ever! We're looking for another chance to return to La Casa de Samuel. We live in St. Louis and can't wait to come back to Chicago!

La Casa De Samuel offers everything you could desire from an authentic Mexican restaurant, situated in downtown Waukegan. The service is quick, and the establishment is very clean. The food is consistently delicious, and they boast a variety of unique dishes, including Cabrito (goat), Conejo (rabbit), iguana, quail, wild boar, and more. I promise this restaurant is a must-visit! And don't forget – the margaritas are enormous!

I had a wonderful dining experience at this gem in downtown Waukegan. The atmosphere and staff were fantastic. I ordered the taco dinner, a half dozen oysters, guacamole, the fiesta gourmet, and cabrito en hoja de plátano, all of which were delicious. The menu is extensive, and I highly recommend this restaurant!

The staff was so nice and helpful. Watching tortillas being made and then getting to eat them was awesome. The one problem I had was they have so many choices it was so hard to decide what to eat. That being said, everything we ordered was delicious! And the tacos were inexpensive enough that I got to try something I've never had before without worrying about paying for something and then not being able to eat it. By the way you should try the squash blossom tacos. The steak sope it was so, so good. The chicken breast with pineapple was delicious but a little spicy for us. The steak Azteca was amazingly delicious and cooked just right. And the atmosphere in the place is like being at a family member's house eating and enjoying, it was just wonderful. I will be back!!
