Truckee Bagel

I stopped by this restaurant on my way to Northstar, and wow, it’s incredible! I’ve never been particularly fond of bagels, but I’ve tried them at many places in the Bay Area, and this one is definitely the best I’ve ever had. Everything is made on-site, nothing pre-packaged. This is honestly the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time.

Most bagels west of New York City are simply donut-shaped rolls. This is true for those in both Northern and Southern California, although I still hold out hope that there’s an authentic Jewish bakery somewhere in Southern California. A real bagel should have a hard, shiny crust and a dense interior.

Great bagels, beautiful and dense as other reviewers have mentioned. Breakfast sandwiches are excellent and also expensive. Good place.

Best fresh bagels in town. Opens early, owner is great. Also a location near Starbucks in the Gateway Center.

Good bagels are hard to come by but Truckee Bagel Company does a great job. Decent selection of bagels, smears and sandwiches.
