Sea Monster Noodle Bar - Tofino

If you like the noodle box then you will love the Sea Monster. This is a favorite for lunch. Thew cook remembered us from our visits last year . We could not remember what we had ordered as the menu had slightly changed. However the cook remembered and was able to recommend a dish that was very similar. This is one of the reasons it became a favorite last year and we had to return this year during our time in Tofino. We will be back in 2018

Intrigued by the name we walked by to check it out and decided to come back for late lunch. Pork Soup: wonderful broth with large chucks of tender pork. The seasoning was perfect. Drunken Noodle with marinated chicken. The chicken flavour was amazing with exceptional overall quality. Salmon Poke: served with raw salmon this was specially prepared to be appropriate for celiac. The salmon was nice sized pieces generously throughout the dish. Presentation was excellent (see photo). We were impressed that the preparation staff knew all ingredients and what had to be adjusted for the gluten allergy. A definite must stop by in Tofino.

Very good and filling. No need to add any flavour it's already in the bowl. Also try the pickled mushrooms! Great.

A separate family and I arrived just before they closed and managed to get a table. Normally I hate it when a restaurant starts stacking up chairs and sweeping up around us - not very welcoming. But the food made up for it. The dishes were generously portioned, incredibly flavourful, and even my picky kid had a plain bowl of noodles and broth, and we shared some of our tofu and veg bites with him. It is great comfort food after a cool day by the shore. Highly recommend it - just try to get there before they close.

Found the Noodle Bar just off the main route into Tofino. This place was certainly a find. The menu is not extensive, but as each dish is prepared fresh I have no quibbles about that. We ordered from a very friendly waitress, a specialised order, and found our seats. You can see and hear the cook making the dishes in the kitchen, always a plus I think, nothing to hide! The food arrived quite quickly, even though the place was getting busy. I went for the Dan Dan and it tasted delicious. Well cooked and well presented. By the time we left the place was buzzing and busy, but the food kept on coming, dish by dish. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in Tofino. Thanks for a great lunch.
