Wildside Grill - Tofino

Gumbo! The fish and chips are fantastic and generously sized. I would definitely come here for fish and chips in Tofino.

Wildside Grill is a counter-service takeout spot located among several other small shops, including a surf store, an ice cream parlor, a food truck, a quaint general store, and bike rental services. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables out front, along with a smaller covered area for dining. The menu features a Vegan Burger, made with a Beyond Burger patty, lettuce, tomato, arugula pesto, and smoked tomato relish, all on a ciabatta bun. I opted for the Veggie Ciabatta (requesting no cheese or mayo to make it vegan), which also came with the same delicious sauces as the vegan burger. Both meals were incredibly tasty (I especially enjoyed the tomato relish) and quite filling, accompanied by a generous serving of fries. The staff was very helpful in providing information about vegan options, both from the front counter and the kitchen.

The salmon fish and chips were incredible, and the portion was generous for just one piece. It's among the best I've ever tasted, especially with the homemade tartar sauce. Great job, everyone! I'll definitely return!

The menu features a Beyond Burger, but it typically comes with mayo. I requested it without mayo, yet it arrived with mayo anyway. Later, I discovered that the bungalow is not vegan-friendly. To make it vegan, they would have to serve it without the bun and mayo, but I’m not sure they would even accommodate that request.
