Big Daddy's Fish Fry - Tofino

My husband and I went there for lunch. My husband had fried cod with French fries, and I had chowder with cod and salmon. It was the best chowder ever, lots of salmon and cod chunks were piled on top, so you can dunk them yourself. The dish came with deep fried bread ( like a bun) that was crunchy, not greasy. My husbands cod was also good, except his fries were not very crispy. The place is very busy, seating is outside and limited. Friendly owners, price on the higher end. I highly recommend this place.

I recently dined at a fish and chips restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with their food. The fish and fries were served hot and fresh, making for a delicious meal. While other items on the menu didn't receive the same level of praise, I still highly recommend this place for a satisfying lunch experience.

What a great spot to eat. Wide variety of seafood in every form you could imagine as long as it is deep fried. Fantastic burgers as well. Prices are reasonable. Had a great supper there. Seating is outside on picnic benches but this is perfect for Tofino. The messy fries (there version of poutine) were not fantastic but the rest was great. They also have milkshakes and ice cream. There were quite busy with folks picking up takeout orders as well as sitting down to eat. Don't miss this spot to eat.

The place was jammed with people of all ages, leading one to assume that the fish and chips would be stellar. Wow, don't ever trust the appearance of other people in a line up as related to the delivery of quality food. The fish, underneath what tasted like old, greasy batter was actually quite lovely (so had a potential that was not realized.) The chips were soggy-not edible. Never again will I, or any of our group, return to this restaurant.

The pleasant Pirate took our order; Fish and Chips, coleslaw and fries. The lineup moved fairly fast , and in no time we were off to the beach. Finding parking took longer than getting our food! The halibut was fresh and flakey, the coleslaw in a celery seed vinaigrette was refreshing, and the fries were crunchy. it was a fabulous lunch! Arrrh
