Roar - Tofino

We came in and ordered our food around 1:40, 20 minutes before brunch ended. We were a group of 6. Our server told us the special for the day, pancakes.Long story short, after we ordered we had the server come by to tell more than half of us ordered something that wasn’t available anymore, no pancakes, no focaccia bread for the Benny, no fried chicken for the sandwich… we all had to reorder. Basically we just asked, what can we order? It was a bit confusing as we had just been told the specials and nobody informed us that they were out of so much.As somebody who worked in the industries for 10 years, it felt more like the kitchen had closed down certain stations to prepare for the next service and weren’t willing to honour the menu. I don’t imagine making a quick batch of pancake batter would take too long since 3 of us had ordered the pancakes.So my recommendations to those who want to try they’re menu, don’t go close to closing, we were the only table there and it felt as though we were an inconvenience to their kitchen.

We spent 2 days in Tofino and had breakfast here the the first day. The food and service were both 5 star so we went back for breakfast again the 2nd day. Both visits were fantastic! The staff were so friendly and we loved the open kitchen design.

I have been to Roar many times over the years and it’s never once disappointed. I was recently there with my two kiddos celebrating my birthday, the staff helped make it memorable. Thank you for everything

Loved the atmosphere, the food was beyond amazing. We had the braised short rib and a side of pork belly. So yummy. Our server was Mike. Hopefully you are lucky enough to have him as your server too. Will return!Dietary restrictions: We are eating low carb and Mike made sure we were well taken care of and the kitchen staff made lovely substitutions.

Delicious breakfast in a funky and lovely setting with very friendly staff and a lovely open kitchen concept. Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict was outstanding!
