We split the bill in two, and I paid my half along with a tip that I felt was reasonable. However, as we were heading out, our server approached my partner to express dissatisfaction with the tip I’d left. This put my partner in a difficult situation, leading him to give an additional tip to the server. I've never encountered a situation where a server openly complained about the tip before, and it completely marred my experience. It was incredibly disappointing, and I have no intention of returning. The server's behavior was truly unacceptable. If I could rate this experience with zero stars, I absolutely would.
The service was outstanding, earning a solid five stars, but the food fell short, deserving only two stars. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind, ensuring our needs were met promptly and even offering us extra side dishes. We ordered the chicken bulgogi bibimbap and chicken deopbap, but unfortunately, neither dish satisfied our expectations. At a price of $18.95 each, both meals lacked the robust flavors and smokiness that many other Korean restaurants provide at lower prices. Additionally, the portion sizes were quite small.
The food was overpriced and contained very little meat—only 2 to 5 pieces, each smaller than 2 cm. The head waitress or owner pressured us for tips at the end of our meal. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the food, the owner claimed that the ingredients were listed in fine print, as if it was our fault for not reading closely. We ordered Bulgogi Marinated Beef and Ddukbaegi Bulgogi, and the ingredients were nearly identical.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth. We enjoyed a delightful meal, and the service was attentive yet not intrusive, even though the restaurant was bustling. They kindly offered to bring us additional side dishes once we finished, which was a lovely gesture. However, I would appreciate it if they introduced some new side dish options, as the three currently available haven't changed throughout my numerous visits. The salt, pepper, and two sauces provided paired beautifully with our meal. The tempura was fresh and served as a perfect vegetable accompaniment for the evening.
I had a fantastic experience dining at Woo’s! The meat portions were generous, and the side dishes were delectable. My only slight concern was that the sauce portions served with the meal were a bit small. The service was outstanding; the staff consistently checked on us throughout our meal. Overall, the food was amazing, and the KBBQ restaurant was immaculately clean.
