We had talked for years about going there but never did until now. The inside decor was dark and a little old. I suppose they were going for that look. We all had schnitzel of some form or another and were all pleasantly surprised!! The food was fantastic! Was it the best schnitzel Ive ever eaten, no! But it was fantastic. The staff was there when we needed them and not when we didn't. My glass was never empty. Desert was awesome!! You gotta try the Black forest cake! To die for!! Only one negative was the background music, I felt like I was in an elevator for 2 hours (but thats just my taste). Overall, I would eat there again on a special occasion, and I would most certainly recommend giving this place a try. Overall a great evening!!
This is one of our favorite "special occasion" places to eat. We always have Chateaubriand for 2 which is finished off at the table. So yummy. The only not so good thing here is that the tables are so very close together. A bit more space between tables would allow you to more comfortably chat with your table mates, and it wouldn't be quite so loud in there. It is made up of 3 separate areas, but all of them lack table space. So be prepares to be squashed in a bit on busy nites! Also there is no waiting area so if you are in the front room there are always people waiting around your table for seating. For that reason I rated a 4 tops. We realy enjoy going there, and would go there more often if it wasn't for the crowding. We do live just up the street...
I have been going to this restaursnt for over 20 years for the Franz Lehar schnitzel.. My friends often have the delicious prime rib and awesome horseradish. This last time I was somewhat disappointed as the portions have been reduced quite a bit. I must say the service was excellent and it is still one of my favs.
Have not been here in a few years. The kitchen has upped the bar as the food quality has greatly improved. The prices have also increased a but but the food and service is excellant.
Husband and I went here for my birthday dinner on Monday night, with reservations for 2 for 6:30 pm. We were sat by the at a table for two that ended up being in a corner with the table next to us so close that we could not carry on a conversation at all, but had to listen to them discuss everything from death to wages to their miserable relatives. The other tables in this restaurant are not set up like this at all. Too bad - because within 5 minutes of us arriving the entire room checked out, we should have said something as there were lots of empty tables then. We were not served bread basket, even when we reminded them of it. Our dinner came about 5 minutes after the folks seated beside us (this is when they then talked about death) Wait staff never came to check on us or our meal until the end. The clearing girl tried to take our 1/2 litre of wine away even though it was still a quarter full. Horribly rushed at the end. Waitress told us that the other waitress didn’t show up so that was that. Just not a great experience for the money spent for a special night.
