My family and I spent the afternoon in the red lion yesterday. The service was superb, the food was amazing and the scenery was spectacular. More people need to know this place exists. It was all topped off by live music and entertainment for the children. Hope to camp there soon. Looking forward to returning.
This pub is ideally located on the Murray River with many moorings for visiting boats and houseboats. It is also accessible by road. Adjacent to it is a small protected inlet suitable for kids to have a swim on a hot summer's day. Also out the front of the pub is a grassed area where kids can play around with complete safety and be kept an eye on.We went along for lunch and sat outside which gave us a fantastic view of the river meandering by. We were pleasantly surprised with the meals we had and the service all round was good. The drinks could have been a bit colder but they were enjoyable just the same. There is a reasonable range of drinks on sale to cater for most tastes. It is worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The meals are very reasonably priced and massive. I had the fish and chips and struggled to finish the 3 pieces of fish it was so big. Excellent spot if you have small kids, you can sit and eat and keep an eye on the kids playing outside. They also have a dress up box which kept the kids amused.
We went for an afternoon of 31 December fun for the kids. Bouncy castles, slides. Staff friendly and drinks (expensive) and food came quickly. Lovely spot down by the river, good place for littlies to swim or go fishing or crabbing. The let down is the food. Awful caesar salad, soggy chips and cremated chicken nuggets for the kids. Steak passable, just. Come and enjoy a drink (not too many, $10 a pint) on a hot day and let the kids have a run around. But just the same advice as for this place's earlier ID's- The Clansman and The Riv - DONT eat here, the food is tragic.
