Le Val d'Authie - Saulchoy

I've visited this restaurant infrequently over a period of about years. I phoned to book two days before and got an table for Saturday night. It was just as well we booked as it was busy and some walk-ins were regretfully turned away....Had a lovely meal. Coquilles St Jacques to start sublime! Follwed by a steak frites (me) and magret de canard (her) and coffee. All delicious.

A very friendly restaurant. A good choice of food. The menu is all in French, but was easily translated by the owner. We enjoyed every mouthfull of all courses. A very enjoyable eating experiance.

Great food at reasonable prices. Nice selection of wines and superb service. Family friendly and in a nice setting with the option of outdoor seating.

The restaurant offers genuine French food including fresh green vegetables (lots in shops, but not in restaurants), clearly family run, friendly service and reasonable value. We were staying nearby but the detour from the would be rewarding for the tranquility of Saulchoy and the...surrounding area. The real France you were looking for!

Sunday evening in a very quiet pre-election village very welcoming host, very helpful indeed, local dishes and fresh local produce. House wine was just perfect, in fact everything was perfect, we'll be going back!
