Matty's Hot Chicken Sb - Santa Barbara

It's very unfortunate... I truly enjoyed their food. But with no updates to their website or Instagram, they just stopped showing up. At least there are other good restaurants at the public market to soften the confusion and disappointment...

This place was a pop-up that lasted only a few weeks. My husband and I stopped in to try the chicken sandwich only to find that the pop-up had closed and the space was empty.

They have something great going on food wise, best chicken in town. One problem not consistent on business hours. I always look at the hours of operation and when I have showed up they are closed. I'm tired of chasing them down.

Awesome food made while you wait The owner check on us and was really cool. Sides were good but you are there for the hot chicken which is a massive treat. I didn't know this place existed because it was so tucked away in the back of the market place. A true hidden gem

Highway Robbery. Pulled off 101 in search of recommended Sta. Barbara Public Mkt. After surveying options, made the disastrous mistake of choosing Matty's Hot Chicken. It should be renamed Mega-Priced Glorified Chick-FilA Wannabe Chicken. If I could give it fewer than the one star, I would. A tiny fried chicken breast on ONE slice of white bread, three pickles, a small bowl of Kimchi, and a 16 oz bottle of water set me back $26.72. Then, AFTER I had already tipped on the tablet cash register, I was told it would all be ready in 15 minutes. You decide if this is good food at a reasonable price or outrageous swindling in exchange for mediocre fare.
