Tai Kee Won Ton - San Jose

This place will be the one and only TaiKee Wonton restaurant of the entire WORLD, as the original one in Taiwan will be closed by the end of August.Was totally surprised by the fact that the taste is exactly the same as we had in Taiwan, especially the deep fried shallots which enrich the flavours of wonton soup, somehow it also enriched our mind here in the middle of San Jose, thousands of miles away from home.Except wonton soup, we also ordered beef noodle and those famous Taiwanese side dishes, like bean curd, bamboo shoots, hard-boiled eggs, and seaweed, all very Taiwanese authentic!!!

Good to eats. Wontons were good but not the best I've ever had.

Good braised pork belly and wanton, soup slightly too saltish for me.

Wontons are delicious, paired perfectly with celery and fried shallot. The pork bellies were way too fatty. Service was a bit pushy but speedy. They do limit seating time to 60 mins. Be prepared to stand in a line for lunch! Price is cheap enough to attract lots of people.

Summary Beef noodle and popcorn chicken were good. (The leftover soup were gelatin the next day. That's a sign of good soup and not water down. Wonton was light in favor but tender meat. It depends on your preference. For kids or simple day, it is nice. I personally like the beef noodle instead.
