Henry's World Famous Hi-life - San Jose

This place is not what you think. We saw it for a while and finally there was a shot. We sat outside because we have a dog to make them pet friendly. You have a good place where we saw because we were looking for a day to lead us or a host, nothing. Finally, they explain how you order and you go to your ya I wait. Service is not the best things here. The guy outside was really friendly, but inside yourself. The place smells amazing and the food does not reflect the smell. Chicken was dry, pumice are not good, and the ribs were also dry. Nothing special. We are looking for a good bbq place in San Jose.

This restaurant has been around for a long time, and I believe the building is older than the restaurant itself, making it a charming historical spot in the heart of San Jose. The menu is displayed on the wall, where you can choose your food and receive a number. You can enjoy some drinks at the bar while waiting for your name/number to be called, and then you receive your starter (salad with your choice of dressing) at your table. The service is good. The main rib, served only two days a week, is really excellent. I wish they had a larger menu selection. We tried the BBQ mushroom and BBQ onion appetizers, which were not as great. The garlic bread is delicious. The baby back ribs were the highlight of the meal, served with a baked potato on the side. We enjoyed everything. Sitting outside also made our experience even more enjoyable. We plan to come back to try the BBQ salmon and chicken dishes.

I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which seems to be a favorite among locals. However, my steak was not particularly memorable. I believe it's worth returning to try a different dish!

Came here for dinner on Saturday night. We asked for table for two with outdoor seatings and put in our orders, waited only a little bit, and were seated. To my surprise, we had small salads waiting for us at the table! We ordered our iced tea and arnold palmer at the table which were served with compostable straws. ? The restaurant serves generous portions. My friend ordered the chicken and ribs combo that had half of a chicken hiding underneath that half rack of ribs, and my half rack baby back ribs were meaty and tender with good tasting BBQ sauce and most of meat falling off the bone. I like the cute little button mushrooms side order. Service was good. I also like the fancy umbrellas setup. The large screen TV with a baseball game that was on at the time gave the place a sports pub feel to the outdoor seating area.

This place was fun. It?s like an old restaurant that?s been around forever. It has a cozy bar area with small old TVs, you can chill waiting for a table. Food is more of a home-made style. We ordered chix baby back ribs combo cause we were not that hungry and it was enough for 2 people. chicken was a bit dry for me, but baby back ribs were soft. side of mushroom, mac cheese (it was my least favorite cause pasta felt overcooked; it almost melts right away in the mouth).
