Cafe Mekan - Ridgefield

Experience at a restaurant with uninterested service and a negative atmosphere.

Upon arrival, we were met with a rude and unwelcoming attitude. The service we received was disgraceful.

We inquired about the price of two lahmacun and caused inconvenience for the owner, who appeared frustrated while preparing them. I did not appreciate their lack of communication.

We discovered this restaurant through GrubHub, and it was always hit or miss if they would accept our order. Perhaps they were too busy at the time? The food has been pretty good the few times we were able to get our order, although it was often late. We particularly enjoy the mixed grill. The staff has limited English skills, but they try their best and are very friendly over the phone. If you have the time to wait, it might be worth trying delivery, but dining in person is probably the best option. We haven't had the chance to visit the restaurant in person yet, but we hope to do so someday.

I am a fan of Turkish cuisine and always enjoy discovering new restaurants that offer it. Cafe Mekan is a fantastic find, with a welcoming and laid-back atmosphere that earns it 5 stars. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is conveniently located on Bergen Blvd with its own parking. The menu is filled with delicious Turkish dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. We tried the hot Sarma (usually served cold) and found it to be flavorful and delicious. The Lachmacun was perfectly done - hot, crispy, well-seasoned, and light. The Chicken Kebab with rice and salad was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. For dessert, we enjoyed Turkish Coffee, Eclairs, and a heavenly Rice Pudding that was perfectly creamy and sweet. The prices are great and overall, the experience was one that I will definitely repeat in the near future. 5 stars!
