I was with Mountain Bird and Gaudir, both at this point. You have to try both of these restaurants. It is an excellent choice for a special evening and business dinner. Gaudir is here on Mondays, and Mountain Bird is the rest of the week. Both have incredible creative menus; the service is impeccable; prices are moderate; they use the highest quality ingredients.
We were disappointed to see that the menu items advertised on the website were not available. Also we made a reservation earlier this day that they were not ready. We had to wait for our table. I know things happen, but I was disappointed. I said on the reservation that we were celebrating a new job and there was no recognition by the numerous servers we seemed to be. Food was decent, but there are other more hospitable places in the area.
Great food, ambience, where you can speak without screaming, is friendly and helpful.
We had a really great dinner in this Monday night pop up in the space that is home to Mountain Bird Tuesdays Sundays. The room and ambience are comfortable, wine and cocktails good, and food just delicious. I thought the tapas compared to those in Portugal and Spain and the breadth of offerings was great. We had some delicious Iberian ham to start, followed by two types of croquettes filled with chorizo and ham, grilled squid with fava beans, peas and a black ink vinaigrette, a delicious mixed mushroom tapas, and a melt in the mouth oxtail. Desserts were great especially the flourless chocolate case with some kind of almond vanilla sauce. Will return to try the tomato pan, grilled octopus and one of the several delicious sounding rice dishes.
