Przekaż informację zwrotnąRapid Creek Cafe is an unassuming Japanese restaurant located in the rapid creek shops. The food is always fresh and affordable. This is a family favourite take away for us and we have never been disappointed!
We have a meal at least every fortnight and it is always good. Tasty udon noodle soup, well made sushi and a host of great delicious meals. Happy staff and owner.
Here for the Karage. It lived up to the hype from my friends in Melbourne. The currys looked great. I can understand the whining about the sushi but what do people expect?, its suburban darwin! I've been eating at the top restaurants here and I'm...More
This place is a Darwin Gem. A local favourite with good reason. The chicken katsu curry is awesome, and there is always a good wait for this place because the chef's cook so impeccably. I'm a sucker for his fried scallops and they are really friendly. It looks basic no frills from the outside, and the decor isn't anything to write home about. But the taste and flavour are consistently good, and so is the service. Plus you can take it home if you want to!
I was impressed by Mr David Taylor's review of this cafe so I decided to find for myself for my own benefit I thought my search for sushi to sought my palate's peculiar bias would end with this cafe.I am more into sushi than the rest of this Japanese cafe. However, I am into terriyakis myself having grown in Hawaii and being married to a hapa haole girl, part Japanese and part Caucasian. She was more Japanese as she grow up with her Japanese grandparent. So, on my part I have eaten a lot of Japanese food, homemade or otherwise. I also can prepare a mean Japanese meal, especially sushis. So I with modesty would know what a sushi would taste like.My palate was disappointed. There is not even a tinge of sugar/vinegar taste to the rice. Those two are the main ingredient of a proper sushi. This mix is mixed with the newly cooked rice and cooled by fanning it furiously before preparing or rolling a sushi. So to me this is not a proper sushi. No taste. To use wasabi and shoyu to make it tasty is just to enhance it. A proper sushi can be eaten without wasabi and shoyu by itself. So for me, the sushi does not make the grade. The teriyaki bento was ok but the main ingredient was the key. Sweet and sour. But it is way too expensive for my pocket of 14 dollars. I give this just an ok.So my grade for this cafe for now is poor. My bench mark is higher than Mr Taylors of 4.3 out of 5.The Galleria in town offers a better deal. Check it out.I wish Mr Akio Hoshi the best, however. Perhaps, Australian palates have different tastes.
