The Frying Dutchman - Portland

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! My wife and I shared the Korean cheeks, curry fried chicken, and some small poutine fries. The owner was incredibly generous and treated us to a complimentary dessert. He is such a nice guy, and we really love the ambiance of the building. I only wish we had more time to explore the other restaurants in the public building.

The Frying Dutchman is consistently excellent! They always feature exciting specials, and the menu items are delicious. It's an affordable place to eat, and the ingredients are always fresh. The calamari and Korean cheese maishunde are outstanding, as are the desserts, especially the chocoflan. Plus, the atmosphere in the public market building is really fun!

I have to say how grateful I am to work so close to tfd, as it is one of my favorite tapas spots. The chef, Leon, creates some of the most delicious global tapas I've ever had! It's not just about the fried foods; they also offer amazing drinks like horchata and dalgona coffee. Additionally, they make their own ice and desserts, featuring different monthly flavors and fun themes. So far, my favorite flavor has been chrysanthemum, and the drag brunch they hosted for Pride was absolutely hilarious! When you're feeling hungry and can't decide what to eat, the Frying Dutchman is the perfect place for some tasty takeout. I highly recommend it—10 out of 10!

I have the egg Florentine pommes and the Korean cheese-maishunde. both super delicious! the fries and the corndog were perfectly crispy and the kicks on both were delicious. even if the portions are very generous for the price, do not skip on dessert! we split a choco strawberry pancake disc that had a perfectly balanced level of sweetness. I would absolutely recommend trying this place for a great lunch or brunch of street food!

The Frying Dutchman is a delicious spot for quick bite when you're in downtown Portland! Everything was very affordable for such an artisanal menu. We got the fried calamari, korean corn dog, and the chocolate flan for dessert. I can't wait to go back for more!
