We arrived in early afternoon on a Thursday for lunch and had the place to ourselves. We ordered 2 breakfasts (bacon, 2 eggs, toast, homefries) and coffee. We sat inside because the tables outside were surrounded by mosquitos due to the season. The staff was very friendly and the meals were fine. This a unique spot and worth a visit from time to time. Indoor seating is limited to 8 people, but the outdoor seating has been expanded to accommodate more people.
We have stopped at Nanabush three times this summer and had a good experience each time. The first two times we sat on the deck in front of the cafe and enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air. Yesterday it had started getting cool so we sat at one of the indoor tables. Nanabush is closing for the season this Thursday and will not reopen until next Spring. We both ordered the bacon, hashbrowns, toast and eggs breakfast with coffee on the side. Breakfasts are $7.50 each and coffee is $1.75 extra for standard coffee. They also offer a variety of coffees such as espresso or latte.Their main offerings, however consist of a wide variety of crepes and paninis. At our visit last month my spouse thoroughly enjoyed a Montreal smoked meat panini. Service on all visits was friendly. The breakfasts were very good and were prepared from scratch. They were reasonably busy with clients who all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The servers are also the cooks and it came out in conversation that they are leaving to go back to school with the hopes of returning to the Nanabush next year. We wish them the best and look forward to returning to the Nanabush when it reopens next spring.
What a hidden delight to discover in the Ottawa Valley, Jordan our server was also the chef, presented a DELICIOUS vegetarian crepe and a pickerel crepe. Food was fantastic and service friendly, professional and efficient. Regrettfully only opened seasonally, was told for 2016 will close Sept 15 2016. Looking forward to 2017 and the amazing crepes.
Great crepes coffee and service! This waterfront town is a real hidden secret along the Ottawa River and just a short drive from Highway 17 definately worth the stop.
