They skirt this issue by stipulating the clause at the bottom of the menu stating prices subject to change without notice . The General Tso 's chicken was $17.50 but I was charged $19.50 for an item that had 8 small pieces of chicken bits. I will never order from this restaurant again.
My parents live in Deep River so I've been ordering from the Golden Dragon for over 15 years! The food is delicious, it's much better than anything I've had in Ottawa where I live. Try the Szechuan chicken, my mouth still waters just smelling it. The owner is super lovely and the family works so hard to keep all the local's Chinese food cravings satisfied. Thanks Lily!
Preordered dinner for 6, was not ready. Total was $110 and it was hardly enough to feed 4 of us. We had to ration. The rice was either uncooked or dry or from the day before. The egg rolls had hardly any filling in them. The ribs were practically bare bones. The vegetables were undercooked and no flavour. The ONLY thing enjoyable was the cherry sauce. I paid $110 for cherry sauce. Utterly disappointed! Support local, get ripped off as a result. Never ever again! And I’ve been customer since 2010.
Being new to the area we thought we would give a local restaurant a try. We were really disappointed. We ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables and 4 egg rolls (for 2 adults). The cost was over $40 and we were not full. We ordered take out, we were told 15 to 20 minutes, and arrived in 15. We live less than 5 minutes away and the food was not hot, warm for sure, but not hot when we got home. The egg rolls had very little filling. The stir fried vegetables were ok, but the main ingredient was onions, quite a bit of broccoli and a few pieces of cauliflower and a few other vegetables. The vegetables were ‘gluey’, I’m guessing globs of thickened cornstarch on the vegetables. The General Tso chicken was not good. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t chicken but pork and the sauce left a lot to be desired, not at all spicy. We have eaten at two other local restaurants since moving to Deep River and both were far better than the Golden Dragon. This was a huge disappointment.
We recently drove from Windsor to Deep River. We arrived at 7:00pm and looked for a place to eat. Although they are in stage 3 there were limited restaurants that were open for dine in. I researched on google restaurants in area and we decided on Chinese food. The website site stated they had done in and open until 9:00. We drove there to see a hand written sign saying take out only. I opened the door and woman behind counter said we are closed. I said oh you website says 9:00 she answered well go talk to google that’s not my problem. We refused to go back! Rude and disrespect.
