On Tuesday morning at 8:30am I arrived at Whole Foods in Paramus. I waited on the line outside to be allowed in at 9am. I am 9 months pregnant and I have diabetes. When I got to the door, the woman standing at the door stopped me and said you do not have to wait until 9, you can come at 8 because you are pregnant I thought that was great and thanked her and also told her that 's so helpful because I have diabetes, she replied oh yes especially with diabetes you can come in because it 's for immune compromised and elders . I thanked her and went on to shopping. I called Whole Foods on my way home to confirm this information and I was told YES because you have diabetes . This morning, I woke up nice and early to get to the store by 7:30am to wait in line to go in by 8am. 8am the doors open and the manager who calls himself KC tells me I can NOT go in. I told him I have diabetes and that Whole Foods AND one of his workers said I can. He told me very disrespectfully to get off the line and that my statement was not true. I got off the line as asked but I respectfully told him that there is some confusion and that not only have I been waiting in the cold outside for 30 minutes but this information was given to me from Whole Foods and an employee. He told me yeah well I 'm the manager and i said elders only then he snapped his little black gate shut on me as if I was an intruder. I got in my car EXTREMELY upset and embarrassed he had done this to me. I called Whole Foods and they told me he has to let me in because I have diabetes (I even tried to show him proof of diabetes). He refused to listen to me despite my second phone call to Whole Foods and he treated me as if I was a nuisance to him. He did NOT care that Whole Foods themselves were saying he has to let me in because of my diabetes. I got in my car so upset and called me husband. How devastating to be treated like this at this time we 're all going through. My husband got my 4 year old daughter dressed and headed over to the Whole Foods. He confronted KC and told him that there 's been some confusion and if he can please let me into the store to get the foods I need to manage my diabetes. He declined and told me husband to step away. My husband at this point felt disrespected and told him how rude and disrespectful he is and how wrong he is and the man replied with do you know who I am? Well you 're about to find out. And he CALLED THE POLICE! The manager CALLED THE POLICE. So we did not leave, we stayed to speak to them to see what they thought of this. 3 police officers and 2 security guards came to us and asked us what was going on and all 5 of them tried to tell him that he is wrong and he is not respecting Whole Foods policy. Of course he tried to play nice guy to the police but they ALL said how shameful and stupid this guy is and that he should be reprimanded and all 5 of them told me how much they believe I should pursue this to the fullest. The police officer told him to let me in and he said no, and they can 't come in the whole day . Before the police officers can continue to force him we told them to just leave it alone and that we will leave. We did not want to give the store any business anymore. An elderly woman on the line even told the manager he 's wrong and should be ashamed of himself. So we left, went to Trader Joe 's and got what we needed. The nice police officers wrote up a report for us to pick up in a few days that we will be using to take further action against this man and Whole Foods in Paramus. To compromise someone 's health during a pandemic and treat people like that will not just simply go away .I took pictures of him. I have proof of my diabetes and I recorded the whole entire thing so there is no denying. I&am
Maybe it would be a lot better if the employees who were in charge of monitoring the entrances and exits were actually doing their jobs instead of being distracted by their phones
I thought I would give their apples a try, and I regret it! Two huge brown spots INSIDE the apple, the outside looked good. For the amount I paid for honeycrisp, I am very disappointed and disgusted. I just purchased these a day ago!
Whole Foods has gone down hill ever since amazon purchased it. This used to be the best store, however now it has become sub par. Most (not all) of The employees never smile and barely look at you when you ask them a question. They are always out of stock in many items. Ever since amazon purchased Whole Foods, they have raised their prices on many items. They claim they reduced their prices on produce, but they have raised their prices on many produce items all back up. The quality of the produce and meats all appear to have dropped since amazon took over.
Contacting customer service was a complete waste of time. The representative John in west coast office was perplexed as to why I was directed to contact them and unsure of what he could do to help resolve what happened. I suggested he read the yelp review to which he responded he had no access to yelp ? . I read it to him and his response I guess I can file a report, if you want . Initially I thought my experience of horrible customer service was isolated to the Paramus location but after my call to the home office I was proven wrong. It is unfortunate that what was once a brand I held in such high regard has taken advantage of their customers due to their overwhelming popularity. I have yet to receive any response to my complaint and at this point don 't expect one.
