The coffee is a bit more expensive than on Darby Street (5.10$ Large Cappuccino), but Moor Café is still a place I recommend for studying or spending a quiet afternoon with friends around hot drinks.
We went there for breakfast over the long weekend. It is easily l=found and parking available all around. They have enough seating inside and outside. We managed to get a table outside and it was in the direct sun so it was lovely. As soon we came and sat down they brought water and menus so great service! There was lots of healthy options on the menu and they had children options. I only suggest they should have at least a few more breakfast options e.g. Raisin Toast. You ordered and paid at the cash register but they brought your meals over. The food was delicious and affordable. After you should walk to the beach cause we got to say whales!
My husband and I had dinner here on Saturday night. As usual, the staff were friendly and we were seated, with water and menus quickly. The restaurant was full, but service was efficient. The food is always lovely, flavours spot on! We tried the crumbed manchego, and Tunisian brik as starters, then had the Goats cheese soufflé, and the beautiful lamb, and finished off sharing an almond and date tart with espresso ice cream. You can mix it up with smaller share plates, or the larger mains, and you won't be disappointed!!
When I first saw the menu I had to look up some of the ingredients on google to work out what they actually were. It was definitely a breakfast for the taste buds. Being able to select from both a breakfast & lunch menu at any time of the day meant that we could satisfy the desires of our party of 4. We had the following selection; Coconut rice porridge; Creamed leek with poached eggs; Slow cooked lamb, Dahl, spiced cauliflower; Ham & Cheese toasty - definitely not as plain as it sounds. Defiantly recommend if you're in Newcastle wanting a middle-eastern inspired restaurant with a hipster vibe (even though I am defiantly not hipster)
The staff were welcoming and very friendly. However, the service was slow. The food and coffees were good.
