This is not Persian foodPersian food doesn't have taco! The portion, the spices and the taste has nothing to do with Persians food.
I've visited once before, back when The Persian Place was known as Cafe Zeytoon. As someone from an Iranian background the two big principles concerning
We were warned by the wait staff that it was a busy night, but it took 2 hours for one of our mains to come out. There were only 2 people on the floor and they were clearly flustered-apologising profusely for mix-ups and long waits. The mains were really nice, but the dips and olives were barely edible (humus was tasteless). The staff were really polite, but I won't be going back any time soon!
While visiting my mum in Newcastle we booked to take her here for dinner. My partner & I are visiting Iran in September for a holiday and wanted to try a taste of Persian food. Service was genuinely friendly and attentive. The food spoke for itself. We chose a banquet to share. All of our dishes were delicious and full of such flavour. All of the individual elements combined to create an amazing taste. Such fresh ingredients. Good sized serves, so good value for money. All of the staff worked well together to create a great team that showed in their presentation and interaction with the customers. Will definitely return the next time we are in Newcastle.
