Yefsi - New York

We arrived and were seated. The waitress was abrupt and snippy with questions. We bartered our 2 appetizers for party of 2 and one main dish to share and she kept insisting it would t be enough food for us. We said we could always order more and she insisted we order a second main dish. The appetizers were excellent as was the chicken kebab, the lamb kebab was not able to be chewed. It was very poor quality meat. We left with 1 appetizer packed to go and more than half of each main dish, partially cause the lamb was inedible.

The highlight of our meal was the environment! Very vibrant atmosphere with low lighting and lit candles on each table. The staff made sure our water never went below half empty! I think this is the gold standard of service when dining out. The vegetarian and vegan friendly options were FANTASTIC! The one issue is it seemed to lack salt. There also were no salt and pepper shakers on the tables. With this in mind, the texture of the Yefsi chips were perfectly crisp though- like seriously the most crunchy and perfectly textured veggie chips. Lamb chops as pictured were so delicious and the potatoes complimented the dish perfectly.

Five of us sung and loved here on Saturday night! we shared everything and our favorites were: shrimp santorini, soutzoukakia, gigandes and fried cheesesticks, looked like fries....forget the official name. will come back in any case. would skip the hawn kebab and try the kotopoulo kokinisto instead. maybe more difficult to share, but it sounded delicious.

Service was very good. Eating was excellent. worth the money was there. highly recommended
