No real Irish theme. It's Saturday night, everyone is out including festive celebrations after a wedding close by. Busy and bustling we drank beer and ate good food, people watched and ended up walking through Times Square which was mad and crazy and very busy. Its easy to forget we are 3k miles from home. We are loving it....But the expensive drinks, the continued demand for tips and the surly service reminds us it's not like London. It won't dampen our spirits though !!!
Went here after a long stroll in Central Park. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the chipotle sauce was very spicy! Very yum. the chicken in the quesadilla could’ve been more seasoned, but still pretty good. Gaelic burger was easily the best thing we ordered. The chicken Caesar salad wrap was okay.
I paid 30 bucks for 2 Jameson and cokes. I live in Hells Kitchen and find much cheaper options in the area. Felt completely ripped off. Other Irish bars offer cheaper prices so try avoid.
I was at this restaurant tonight around 830pm and was super excited to watch the Bengals and Bills game . I and my two female friends I came with . We are tourists from Canada and I was working in restaurants for 10 years and worked every single position and never in my life have a received service so bad in my life because of the blonde bartender . The blonde bartender was an older lady and was a hellion , mischievous , apathetic and simply the most disrespectful person I met on this trip I have never met someone a bartender who is basically a bully . My friend for one didn’t know what she wanted to order and she couldn’t decide what she wanted and asked simple question you would want and expect any bartender to answer politely and kindly when you go out for dinner . My one friend said “Is the Caesar salad here chopped lettuce . And the bartender aggressively responded “ITS THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER SALAD at every other restaurant”. And my other friend asked if she could make any of the burgers a Veggie burger and didn’t wanna remove certain items because originally she wanted the Mexican Burger but wanted to modify it . But the Bartender said “WHY DONT YOU JUST ORDER THE VEGGIE BURGER AND ADD CHEESE” In a very aggressive tone . My other female friend still didn’t know what they wanted and the bartender basically stood over my friend for 5 minutes with her arms crossed and had this really intense scowl on her face and pressured my friends to order food when they didn’t know what they wanted and she simply pressured them to order something and they ended up ordering something they weren’t exactly thrilled about just to get the Angry and disrespectful bartender out of there face instead of saying “ Should I give you two a few more minutes . When we were done We asked her if we could all pay for our bulls separately and she said “You know in most restaurants someone simply just pays the bill and you can all reimburse each other after that , or you could of told me this at the beginning of the night . And that was my breaking point and me and my friends payed our Bills and left and I tipped her 0 dollars and she was like “You didn’t sign here and you didn’t leave me a tip “. And I said “Your damn right I didn’t and just got up and we all walked away”. because I wanted people to know this ladies true colours . I don’t know this ladies name , but she is a bully , evil , so disrespectful, patronizing, and condescending. I will never go to this restaurant again and no one should dine here as long as this lady works here and the owner needs to and should consider terminating this bartender WORST AND TERRIBLE SERVICE and well deserving of 0 STARS
We have been fortunate to make it to NYC a few times. The first time there we happened upon this place by accident. We have made sure that we return each time. It is crowded but that is the beauty of it. It is definitely up beat and there food is great. The prices are reasonable and it is so close to Central Park.
