La Brochette Steakhouse - New York

The people and service were really nice but I was a little disappointed with the food. I ordered the filet mignon. IOver cooked and tough to cut. Fine dining prices for mediocre quality food.

Top notch place for personal or business lunch (or dinner). Excellent interesting menu with good ambiance. Service is also wonderful. Prime location on 40th Lexington (just south of Grand Central Station). Will be back here soon.

In general, La Brochette was OK , but certainly not as good as I would have expected for the price. Our waiter, while perfectly acceptable, seemed a bit surly and while he was never rude, he did not show any enthusiasm or levity. At a high-end restaurant, you expect exceptional service and the service was just average at best. While my dining companions did enjoy their steaks, my filet was over-cooked and tough (for a filet). While the flavor was very good, the filet definitely did not have that melt in your mouth vibe that you expect from an item costing over $50 (just for the steak). The Sushi was good, the salads were excellent. We had lava cake for dessert and while the lava cake itself was delicious, the ice cream was freezerburned. The décor of the restaurant was elegant. Over-all I expected more out of this establishment, but if they correct a few things, I might go back.

This place has delicious food. High quality steak and other meats. Our waiter was very prompt and willing to go an extra step to make us happy. However, the ambiance was very weak and didn't represent the quality of the pricing on the menu. After a major renovation, this restaurant would be over the top!

Excellent food and Excellent service. I would definitely recommend to a friend or business associate.
