Empire Szechuan - New York

I have been to Empire Szechuan many times over the past few decades, often meeting friends before going to nearby Lincoln Center. I have always had a satisfactory experience, although nothing particularly stands out as memorable. Their menu includes a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, including some common options found at Chinese restaurants as well as imitation meat dishes. However, it is worth noting that their online menu does not specify which items are vegan, so it is recommended to inquire with the staff. Overall, the majority of items labeled as vegetarian are likely vegan-friendly. Nonetheless, restaurants listed on Happy Cow should clearly indicate vegan options on their menus to avoid any confusion.

The man that brought the food was extremely rude to us. We order pork chops, the menu do not indicates it is breaded or that it has a gravy; when we ask about the gravy the man started yelling back at us. Never coming back.

The lunch menu was inexpensive and very tasty. The preparation of the dishes exemplified the best of Chinese crusine.

Very fresh, delicious tasting Chinese Food with an excellent $8.95 lunch deal. I really enjoyed the chicken cashew dish, fried rice, and egg roll. Will definitely be back.
