I was surprised to learn that they also offer breakfast and more on their menu. It's like having two businesses in one storefront. The best way to appreciate their cake designs is to check out the front windows where they display their best work. I took some photos of the window displays as a sample. It is definitely worth visiting in person to see everything they have to offer. I was greeted warmly upon entering and given space to browse all their sweet treats. Although it was too early for lunch and I wasn't ordering a cake that day, I noticed they have plenty of other delicious options. I requested their business card for future reference and received it promptly. I am happy to know I have this bakery as a resource for special celebrations.
I encountered a rat exterminator at this restaurant. They have had issues with rodents for years! I distinctly recall witnessing a rat crawling over the food. Years later, I returned with my daughter and the same problem still existed. I am puzzled as to how this establishment still maintains a grade A rating and believe it urgently needs to be inspected by the health board.
We have purchased pastries from this restaurant several times, but today will be our last visit. There are several reasons for this decision. Firstly, the service was extremely slow. While we have been patient with slow service in the past, this time it was too much to handle. Secondly, Salesperson #2 attended to other customers before serving us, even though we were there first. Additionally, my order was left on the counter while Salesperson #1 prepared a panini for another customer. Furthermore, Salesperson #2 forgot to include one of the bread items I had ordered. The use of plastic boxes for packaging is not eco-friendly - they should consider using paper or cardboard instead. One of the bread rolls with cream filling was not fresh, causing my husband to get a stomachache. Lastly, be aware that sometimes they blow balloons which may result in a longer wait time before being served.
The guava pastelito topped with powdered sugar is flaky and filled with delicious guava. Although messy, it pairs well with coffee.
I ordered pernil and yucca with alcapurias. The food was decent, but I've had better pork and alcapurias from other restaurants. The alcapurias were yellow instead of the dark brown variety I prefer. The yucca was delicious and tender, though. The staff was friendly and attentive.
