Café Salmagundi - New York

Cafe Salmagundi is one of the best spots in NYC. The food is ineffective, the staff is very nice and the prices are great. This place is a must and I promise you that you want to come back.

Service: In the evening we visited the restaurant was clearly understated, which is understandable nowadays. However, the timing was of everything and no apologies or accommodation were made. No one was at the door to sit for a while. drinks arrived after food; or could not be ordered in time because no one was there to take the order. The main dish was served only one of us while the other waited long — and again no apology at all. The food itself: a salad we ordered was devastated and tasted as if it were sitting somewhere for a while. The crispy chicken wings were also tasted as if they were deeply roasted a few hours before and were doused last minute with sauce. Of the two nets the branzino was fine, but the steak was extremely chewing and uneven in the temperature, as though it had waited for a while.

Absolutely phenomenal! The service was top notch for a party of 14 and the manager went out their way to pick us up and make recommendations. The food is PHENOMENAL and my group of world-class eaters were all impressed. Thank you. Katie, for my work dinner perfection!
