I especially liked the halibut and my friend had the duck. Everything was artistically plated and the ambiance was beautiful. I am withholding the fifth star in this review for a small detail in service. I appreciate the attentiveness of the staff as well and noticed some of the junior staff receive some training during our meal. One member of staff nearly gave me the wrong dish and was openly told off and corrected by a more senior staff member. Another came around serving us bread and after declining, came back a minute later to ask again which was a little pushy. I am confident that the junior staff will gain more finesse with experience. That aside, I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion!
Everything was delicious. Since it was Sunday, they offer a brunch menu. For $53, you get to chose the appetizer, entree, and desert. I had the egg Benedict with the crab. And the desert was the pistachio creme pastry. The restaurant gives two complimentary baskets of Madeline cakes, which were delicious, they melted in your mouth.
Absolutely the best meal I have ever had. R&C is always a safe bet when it comes to unquestionably amazing quality, however this was an experience I will never forget. As a young professional, not many places take you seriously. They underestimate your ability to tip and to appreciate the artisan that it takes to create world class food. Not here. Every step of the way I fell so in love. If I wasn’t so pleasantly stuffed I would have stayed forever. My som was fantastic and I recommend if you do anything, have the cheese and the 1970 port. You will absolutely never regret or forget it. I wish I could name each and every one of the staff here for their fantastic service but quite frankly after the first bite, I forgot everything I had ever known. I will be back to visit with all of my family. Do yourself a favor and experience New York (and France) here.
Where do I even start, such an amazing experience here. Came for Restaurant Week lunch and we got seated right away since we had reservations. Menu was excellent and between 4 of us we tried everything on the menu. Salmon was perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths. Pate for starters was delicious and so was the soup/salad. Desserts were a treat to the eyes and palatte. Coconut cheesecake and chocolate torte were to die for. Service was impeccable and we had an excellent meal. We got complimentary freshly baked Madeleines which came out warm, and cauliflower stuffed appetizers which were amazing. We also got plenty of freshly baked bread.
We went there during Restaurant Week and I can say that it was an excellent choice! Everyone was very polite and attentive. The restaurant is elegant and they have a coat check at the entrance which is essential during winter months. All the dishes were beautifully served and were very delicious (especially the chocolate mousse cake! , the portions are not huge but the 3-course lunch was absolutely enough. Only one small thing that could be improved is the bread they served up before the appetizer—it was rather dry. Otherwise highly recommended!
