Mayeaux's Steak Seafood - Natchitoches

Excellent service and food! The crawfish etouffee was excellent spicy but not overwhelming. The fried shrimp was perfect….large, perfectly fried! Our favorite, the squash casserole was just amazing! LARGE portions!! Even the individual loaves of fresh baked bread and butter were just perfect.

This place is super typical of tourist areas. The wait was low…about 15 minutes but we were there early. By the time we left it was close to an hour (just a warning..don’t go expecting to walk in). Our server was new and friendly, very gracious. Though not quite knowledgeable about all the menu options. My bf wanted etouffee and she pointed out something on the menu and he ordered that. It could not have been more wrong. It was more like fish covered in Alfredo sauce? Not great. Def not etouffee. His Mac and cheese side was over cooked and dry. My filet was fine, but just fine. Nothing more or less and presentation was weird. It was a petit filet but came on a big plate with nothing else. The sides were separate but just random to use such a large plate for such a small item. I got two sides…why not put them together?Hands down the most amazing thing was the potato. We probably won’t be back as we were tourists just like everyone else. But would return for the potato. Get it. Get all the potatoes!

The steak was excellent. The service was poor. The waitress never came by to check on us during the meal. Had to ask for her twice.

Very friendly service. Food was quite fine and to be honest much better than expected.
