Shogun Japanese Steak House

Jose the Chef was funny, entertaining and our experience was great!! Food was very good.

Three whole hours because I made the mistake to come here is what I had to pay. 180 minutes wasted. I’ve come a few times. Usually it’s been decent but today was the absolute worst I’ve ever had at this place. We arrived at 3 PM and were told we would be seated in 45 minutes. Despite that, we ended up waiting over an hour and a half for them to start cooking and when it began, the cook took his sweet time. Please go somewhere else and avoid this place. The ventilation is horrible. You’re literally choking in this place. My ice melted faster than the server checking up on us. He nonchalantly was saying if you can’t wait this isn’t the place. Damn right it isn’t.

I have been frequenting Shogun for at least 22 years. The food has always been plentiful and flavorful however the atmosphere lacking. The good food and large portions have always had us coming back for decades. It was recently taken over by new owners who have updated and renovated to make the atmosphere more inviting; however, the portions have gotten alot smaller and the flavor has now been lacking. It seems that they are rationing there ingredients and butter significantly. I have been 4 times in the last 3 months and dinners keep on getting smaller and smaller. If the owners read this word of advice, don't cut back on the veggies and rice, they literally cost cents. The atmosphere is significantly nicer however at the end of the day, flavorful food and a full belly is what keeps the customers coming back.

As soon as we walked in, you could just tell it had a new owner!! The restaurant was clean, fresh, and welcoming. Our server was such a sweetheart and very attentive, especially to my three children. Cook was great, food was amazing like always. It was my kids first time, and they sure loved the experience. Oh, and the added music was a plus. I love the changes the new owner is making and can’t wait to see what else is in store.

EXTREMELY HOT. The whole building did not have AC but they had a few mini fans that you get from Walmart...the server was okay but the cook was not. I'm pretty sure someone forced him to be there, he also didn't even turn on the exhaust fan above where he was cooking so everything was going into our faces until a coworker turned it on for him. Also the ceiling tiles are CAKED in grease, they are literally brown. And the floors have grease too because you are LITERALLY sliding on the floor tiles. But the food was decent.
