And since I feel that nothing compares with my old favorite Gino's pizza on Superior St, in downtown Chicago, I couldn't wait to give Scalisi 's a try. And so I have to admit. Scalisi's 2-in-animal pizza impressed me. Does it compare with Gino 's? But I have to say it was pretty close to Darn. I was impressed by the cheese bread and I liked the recipe for her marinara sauce. So. Without a doubt Scalisi's pizza is the best Chicago pizza I've found outside actually Chicago. Period. Definitely worth your time and visit. Congratulations.
I was in various places of people from Chicago who claim they have the Italian beef and the Wiener Hot Dogs and so on and was disappointed by all. I saw Scalis advertising and thought we would try. When I grew up in Chicago, I had the Italian beef, the hot dogs the deep pizza, so my expectations were very high. We ordered the Italian beef, the Wiener Hot Dog, the Gyro, we also ordered the traditional Italian sausage pizza. We wanted to get a taste of these well-known dishes from home. I gave them a 5-star review for the following food was great, the service was great, spoke to the owner Patty and she was also very nice. I can say it will never be the same as at home, but that was very close. Our next thing to try is the deep dish pizza, a head up you must order at least 35 minutes before arrival, because the deep dish takes awhile to cook.
We wanted to try this place for a while... so happy that we!!! Food was great... Nabel had Penne Pasta and I tried the deep dish! It was delicious!! On top of the large foods, the customer service was TOP NOTCH!! Our waitress was great and very attentive!! The owner, Patty was also very professional and attentive with us. She was so sweet! I would highly recommend this place!
Great food! Tested the Viennese dog yesterday and went back today for the Italian beef with spicy sausage! Yummy! A recommendation: Call in your deep court pizza before arriving there. As with all deep dish pizzas, it will make about 35-40min.... well worth waiting.
I always thought that the best place to get a Deep Dish in the Valley was Mama Mia’s... that changed tonight. The Chicago Style deep dish pizza knocks out Mamas Mias with ease. It’s full of flavor and didn’t hurt my pocket. Definitely coming back for more!!
