Ricky's Country Maple Ridge

Stopped in because I was waiting on a service elsewhere, had already gone for a walk in the neighbourhood, and was in need of a restroom. I thought at first I would come in for coffee and to use the restroom, but then figured, why not grab some breakfast?The service was prompt and friendly, and the location has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, with lots of warm wood tones and booth seating.I ordered coffee $3.79 and the California Benny with shredded hashbrowns $18.99 . The coffee was good — not sour, as I find it is in so many restaurants these days. The food though was less appealing.The English muffin was not toasted, so it was just soft/spongy and “raw” tasting. The slices of tomato were kind of greyish pink. I know… the average store-bought tomatoes are mostly terrible, and these were no different. It’s what they had to work with. And the hollandaise sauce was bland. I’m sure it from a mix, and though that’s not my favourite option, I’m ok with that, provided it has good flavour. In this case, it did not. So, I was left feeling like it wasn’t really worth the calories. The hashbrowns were fine. I ate the pan-seared crispy portions my favourite and left the rest.So, a mixed review. But since we generally come to restaurants for the food, it was a bit disappointing.

Young waitress was not very aware. We were the only two in the restaurant and we waited 20 minutes for her to take our order ? Then an older lady started her shift. And she was nothing but sweet, kind and and aware. When I left I actually had to go tell her that her energy was amazing hopefully the young gal will learn from her.

In response to the managers reply, sir we 've never talked before you spoke with my friend and our issue wasn 't with the hostess that actually greeted us but rather the two servers that walked past us, made eye contact, kept strolling then decided to have a little chit chat with her coworker who also saw and ignored us instead of offering us any customer service. I 'm pretty sure the issue of who 's section was next would have been solved if either of them had helped us.Treated with absolute disrespect at this location today. My best friend and I, who is also a mixed race woman entered this location and stood in the waiting area while two servers who clearly saw us decided that having a personal conversation on the floor for five minutes was a better idea than seating us. We stood and waited longer until a third server appeared and greeted us. She then turned to the other two and asked who 's next ? We were the only ones standing there what do you mean who 's next? Do people usually play hide a seek when waiting to be seated? We 'll be taking our business elsewhere from now on

We had a large group and we were very well looked after. Great sevice and the food was good.

We waited 25 minutes and still hadn't even received a glass of water. The young lady who was serving us seemed confused, and the manager didn’t know what items were on the menu. After half an hour, we decided to leave and went to The Home restaurant instead. The service there was much better!
