Disappointed after seeing such great reviews. In the end though thanks to the person who got our meal for free after a complaint, we decided it was worth three stars (thanks to the staff member it isn't a 1 or 2. Negatives: two hour wait between waiting to be taken to our seat and then sitting down at our table. Management did get in touch after complaining saying it was a busy night. When you book or ask for a table, you're asked to sit in a lovely living room before being seated. This is where your order is taken. Not only was it two hours to wait and staff didn't keep up updated, staff kept forgetting to bring in drinks while we waited. low water pressure in the shower. When raising it staff said they believed it to be accurate. As someone who had showered plenty of times which included electric showers, I can surely say the issue was bad! The toilet takes a while to fill up for example. If that's what the quality staff are happy with, it's not a luxury room. staff member in the small box office next to the front desk was unwelcoming unhelpful, and I'm a nice person! Positives: minus the shower, our room was wonderful, well kept and very clean. View to the front was fantastic Waiting staff were really lovely and friendly! Rooms: Apart from low pressure shower, room was beautiful. One window painted close which isn't great in during when it's hot Safety: Adequate safety measures in place Food drinks: Two hour wait for dinner, management did say it was a busy night. Couldn't fault this hotel. Had a short golfing break and all the staff were courteous kind and very very helpful. And the owner very kindly gave us the hotel history. A wee gem of a place. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5
