As we followed him down a small alley, we were served two large glutinous rice flour balls in a yellow syrup. The first ball had a citrusy and spicy syrup, while the second ball had a surprise black sesame filling. It was a fun and delicious surprise to watch the colors change as we ate. The second ball was filled with shredded coconut, creating a burst of flavors that worked surprisingly well together. This experience introduced me to my new favorite dessert at Tau Pham Bang.
The black sesame pudding dessert and black sesame mochi ball were both delicious. They were served in a sweet ginger soup. The staff didn't speak English, but they were helpful and friendly. They only accepted cash and you pay when you leave. Each bowl cost 20k - such a great deal for the quality of the food!
This restaurant in the heart of Hanoi's old streets offers a delicious selection of authentic Vietnamese traditional desserts. The bánh trôi tàu is particularly tasty, with a chewy texture and a perfectly balanced sauce that isn't too sweet. The prices are quite affordable, making it a great option for anyone visiting Hanoi. Highly recommended!
Here you can see Vietnamese road desserts. they sell glutinous rice balls in ingwersirup, black sesame sweet suppe and (I think) sweet maispudding. we had the first two so delicious!
Bánh trôi tàu mấy chục năm qua vẫn vậy, truyền đời nhau nhưng vị không thay đổi. Tiếc mỗi là không còn chú Bằng hói để nghe cái giọng đanh đá của chú
