Lilac City Steakhouse - Goulburn

The customer service was good, however the food was not what we expected. I got a medium rare rump steak with Diane sauce with mashed potatoes and corn with extra vegetables. First off the Diane sauce turned out to be pepper sauce, next my corn was still frozen (uhm why not fresh guys?), the mashed potatoes was barely warm and the extra vegetables was a tiny portion of frozen vegetables! Why isn't there fresh vegetables? The steak by itself was good however and with the right sauce I would have loved it. We did receive a small discount off our meal ($13). The customer service was lovely, the food not so much.

The steak they served is truly good value for money. It was a substantial piece of meat. However, when ordering the doneness of the meat, their medium rare was more akin to medium, and this was a piece of ribeye. So be careful when placing the order.

Quiet, basic and comfortable, we found the rooms clean, austere but adequate and the staff were polite and friendly. Good lower-end value!

Rather than travel back into the main township I decided to have a meal at the Steakhouse adjoining the Lilac City motor Inn. I was not disappointed as the meal was delicious and the price was very reasonable. I will be back.
