We tried looking for Grab a crab that is outside the mall but failed to do so Google maps is pointing us on a wrong place. We decided to try the one inside the SM mall I ordered the crab generals but did not like it.We had garlic rice, chopsuey, buttered shrimp that cost us 2000 pesos plus water and pop with 2 mango shake I think.
WE stopped here with my husband and kids. The food is really tasty and not expensive. My husband got a steak for 300P It seems to be more of a Chinese style cookery but the food is good. The shrimp is really fresh and the chicken cooked crunchy and not gooey. The menu is massive and by that I mean LARGE!! If you need glasses, you wont in this place!! It is also really varied, you can have a choice of anything that you really want, except for salads. But I find that in the Philippines, salads are hard to find. The ambiance is a really relaxing and inviting. The owner, who happens to be a really nice guy, also owns the Coffee Club 101. At Robinson's Place in GenSan it is right next door and after the meal, we went there for a coffee. This place is also relaxing and reminiscent of the Coffee Houses back home in North America There is a little enclosed room where you can have a private engagement but you really need about 8 people and should be spending 8000P (I think that was the total) Overall, go there, it is a great family place or couples place, business place, etc. in fact a great place in general
It was my last visit to Gensan and I wanted to do something nice for my colleagues like a farewell dinner. After a hot and busy day it was nice to relax in the cool dining area of the restaurant. Usually my first step is the perusal of the wine list, then, when the proper wine is chosen, I proceed with the menu. In this case there was nothing to peruse the wine list was very limited and my friends had to go to the nearest shopping mall to buy a couple of Sauvignon Blanc bottles. As for the menu it was quite satisfactory, with a lot of seafood, fish and assorted salads. All of my guests were locals and they suggested the best dishes according to their opinion; I also added a few more. The meal was good, the service average and the farewell dinner proceeded quite well. It was the first time I tried the pompano fish and it was fantastic! In my opinion the place is worth a try but one visit is enough. Last visited October, 2009.
This place has a huge menu. If you have poor vision, no problem, this thing is about 30cm x 40cm size. It's the biggest menu I've seen. After reading about Grab A Crab here on TA, we had to make a stop and we were already in Brgy Dadiangas East. We came in around 11:30 in the morning to an empty restaurant. We were ready for lunch as breakfast was at 5:00 this morning. We had the seafood rice, garlic chicken, sashimi, grilled tuna, Shanghai crab and garlic crab. The rice was terrific and worth going back for. The garlic chicken was the best fried chicken I've had. The garlic crab was awesome as well. I was expecting only a sear on the outside of the grilled tuna, but it was cooked through. My mistake as I'm sure they have serve it how I prefer, I just ordered the wrong thing. The sashimi was frozen, but still fresh. I wasn't expecting a fresh caught and cut fish at 11am, so no harm there. It was tender and delicious once we let it thaw on the plate. Good things come out of the water here in Gen San. The restaurant was amazingly clean and upscale, I was expecting a dive but we got a fine dining experience for not a lot of money. One handy thing is that there are sinks outside the comfort rooms so you can wash your hands after crabbing and not have to touch a door. Nice touch.
