Aconchego Restaurante Bar - Funchal

Had an overall positive experience at the restaurant. Recommend making a reservation in advance, especially for a window table with an ocean view at sunset (consider arriving a bit earlier during winter . Opens at 18, closed on Mondays. The staff is friendly, and it's one of the best small restaurants in Madeira. We started with the Mediterranean Tapas plate, mostly good, but the stuffed olives were regular, and doritos came with mayo instead of guacamole. The Flabee Pepper steak was delicious (5/5 , and the Madeira golden bream fillet with saffron risotto was tasty but the risotto tasted more like turmeric and a bit oily (3/5 . The banana split for dessert was okay. Overall, a good experience; would recommend. A five-star review if the starter matched the menu description and the risotto had a genuine saffron taste. (Dish presentation looked better in reviews.

We had so much luck to have this restaurant next to our hotel. we went there the first two nights and wanted to visit last night, but unfortunately it was booked with two big birthday parties so there was no place for us. both of us had a table with sea view and jessica was our server. She was fantastic! we were very hungry both paints (we usually do not eat lunch, if on not all inclusive holiday) so we had local brot that was roasted to perfection with olive oil and olives and scabbard fish in mandel (commended by jessica) with a bottle of house white wine. it was an amazingly delicious meal. everything was very fresh and delicious. in the first night we had also a local dish that was nothing special so that we did not order it next time. By the way, this sausage remover was our only meat bite in our 8 days on madeira. I'm really disappointed that we couldn't go to aconchego at our last night and don't try, oktopus. I can't recommend this place enough. it deserves its high rating on tripadvisor 22/600 restaurants in madeira). we will definitely return to madeira because we have fallen in love with it and we will surely be back at aconchego. but I will book it in advance.

Bereits seit fünf Jahren besuchen wir dieses, von außen gesehen unscheinbare Restaurant. Auch ohne Empfangsproseco ist die Qualität der Speisen sehr gut geblieben. Der Services ist trotz Corona freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir freuen uns immer wieder dort zu sein und neben dem tollen Essen, die Aussicht und den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen

What a fantastic restaurant. The view over the bay is beautiful, the food exceptional (largest shrimp I've ever seen) and the service and atmosphere perfect.

Absolutely fabulous meal! Had king prawn starter and sizzling fillet steak and flambé fillet steak, both sensational. Off the beaten track but make the effort to get here!
